Marigold is one of the most well-known and versatile herbs in Western herbal medicine. The flowers, which we grow on our California farm, contain essential oils and a rich concentration of flavonoids (such as carotene) that are anti-inflammatory, soothing irritated skin. Used as a hydrosol, essential oil, and infused into sunflower oil, marigold is found in most of our skin care products.
What it does:
Marigold, also known as calendula, is full of phytochemicals that are known for their free radical scavenging activity, which helps to revitalize dull, dry, and damaged skin. The plant polyphenols found in marigold are the most active natural antioxidants you can find—meaning they cleanse and detoxify—so anytime you see it in our products, it reduces acne, rashes, and blemishes.
